About St. Paul's

The St.Paul’s district is named after the eponymous cathedral that was completed in 1710. Situated on Ludgate Hill, it occupies the highest point in the City and its location was originally home to a church founded in AD604.

St.Paul’s is one of London’s most iconic landmarks as well as being a busy place for worship, learning, concerts and sightseeing.

The area has excellent transport links with St. Paul’s, Mansion House, Blackfriars, and Cannon Street underground stations nearby as well as City Thameslink.

The Social Side of St. Paul's

Situated on the fringes of the City and within easy walking distance of the Millennium Bridge, St.Paul’s is a vibrant, bustling district packed with historic buildings, a huge choice of bars and restaurants, plus plenty of green space.

It’s also within easy reach of The Thames, with the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre easily accessible on foot.

The neighbourhood is home to The Old Bailey, Central Criminal Court, St Bartholomew’s Hospital and the Grade 1 listed Stationer’s Hall that was completed in 1673 following the great fire of London. And for those seeking a spot of culture, The Barbican is a short walk away.

It’s an area of London that you could happily wander round for hours, exploring hidden streets, finding historic architecture and stumbling upon relaxing green spaces such as the nearby Postman’s Park, the St. Paul’s churchyard, and Christchurch Greyfriars Garden.

For shopping, there is One New Change, which houses a wealth of well known brands from Topshop and Banana Republic through to Next and Vodafone with eateries including Searcys Champagne Bar, Wahaca and Bread Street Kitchen.

It’s a great part of London for al fresco lunching, either at one of the many bars or restaurants or in the pretty courtyards and shady spots available, from the banks of the Thames, to the public space surrounding the cathedral.
