About Green Park
Named after The Green Park, one of the Royal Parks of London which was first designated by King Charles II and later landscaped in 1820 by John Nash, Green Park covers a little over 40 acres between Hyde Park and St. James’s Park. It also includes Buckingham Palace and Kensington Gardens forming an almost continuous green band in Westminster which abuts Horse Guard Parade, Downing Street, Belgravia, Notting Hill, Mayfair and Bayswater. It’s one of London’s most upmarket areas but centuries ago, it was the haunt of highwaymen and robbers.
The Social Side of Green Park
With its trademark avenues of mature trees and lush grassland, The Green Park itself is the ideal refuge for workers seeking time out or a quiet spot for lunch.
