About Bond Street

Situated in London’s West End, Bond Street links Piccadilly and Oxford Street and has been a renowned shopping destination since the 18th century. The area is divided into two parts, Old Bond Street to the south and New Bond Street to the north. Bond Street itself is only half a mile long and is served by Bond Street, Green Park and The Elizabeth Line station. It’s one of the most expensive London districts when it comes to property prices.

It’s also one of the most popular shopping hotspots in London and according to Westminster City Council, it has the highest density of luxury fashion stores than any other destination. It houses famous names such as Tiffany & Co, Cartier, Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, and Prada.

The Social Side of Bond Street

While it’s famous for designer brands with more royal warrant holders than anywhere else in London, there’s more to Bond Street than shopping. It has a rich history, which is evident in the region’s architecture.

Art lovers have plenty to occupy them in Bond Street which is home to Bonham’s and Sotheby’s, where the galleries and cafe are well worth a visit. The Halcyon Gallery which specialises in modern art works is situated on New Bond Street along with The Richard Green Gallery which displays old masters and impressionist paintings.

For antiques lovers, Grays Antiques Market is a stone’s throw away, with around 100 dealers selling their finds across two floors.

While there aren’t many restaurants in Bond Street itself, there are plenty to be found a short walk away in the Mayfair district, including Bond Street Kitchen inside Fenwicks (Open 10am – 6pm), Sketch, situated in a stunning Georgian building on Conduit Street and Michelin starred Japanese restaurant Umo in Bruton Place.

Bond Street is home however, to some traditional London pubs, such as Bonds, a contemporary bar with a twist, Duke of York, across the road from John Lewis and offering traditional ales and pub grub and for those who prefer disco lights and a cocktail, The Loop Bar.

For workers seeking green space during work breaks, Berkeley Square, Hanover Square and Grosvenor Square with its 9/11 memorial, are all within walking distance.
