A rich history
Birchin Court is situated on Birchin Lane, which became the first stock exchange street in London, with coffee shops and clothing being the main attraction. In the Middle Ages a market was opened on Birchin Lane and as London built its status as the trading and financial hub over the centuries, Birchin Lane was at its heart. In 1734 the Bank of England moved to Threadneedle street, where it still stands today, being an iconic landmark across London, bringing businesses to the area.
